Installation & Setup

CatBridge runs as a separate app that handles translation and overlays. One connection method is needed to pass Guild Wars 2 chat and NPC dialogue to CatBridge.

ArcDPS, Nexus, and Version.dll are not different versions of CatBridge. They are three ways to connect the same CatBridge app to the game.

CatBridge는 번역과 오버레이 표시를 처리하는 별도의 앱입니다. Guild Wars 2의 채팅과 NPC 대사를 CatBridge로 전달하려면 게임과 CatBridge를 이어주는 연결 방식이 하나 필요합니다.

ArcDPS, Nexus, Version.dll은 서로 다른 CatBridge가 아니라, 같은 CatBridge를 게임에 연결하는 세 가지 방법입니다.

At least one connection method is required

Choose ArcDPS, Nexus, or Version.dll. You can safely install two or all three methods together. If an existing version.dll already supports CatBridge integration, such as Korean Patch 0.4.1 or later, it already provides the Version.dll connection and no additional method is required.

All three methods are selected by default. If Setup finds an existing version.dll that it does not own, it preserves that file and disables the standalone selection.

세 가지 연결 방식은 기본적으로 모두 선택되어 있습니다. CatBridge Setup이 설치하지 않은 기존 version.dll이 있으면 해당 파일을 보존하기 위해 독립 실행 선택을 비활성화합니다.

3. Install and launch CatBridge

3단계: 설치 후 CatBridge 실행

The recommended legacy cleanup option removes known CatBridge files left by V1.6.3 and earlier. When installation finishes, launch CatBridge from the Start menu or desktop shortcut.

권장 옵션인 1.6.3 이하 구버전 파일 정리는 이전 설치에서 남은 알려진 CatBridge 파일을 정리합니다. 설치가 끝나면 시작 메뉴 또는 바탕 화면의 CatBridge 바로가기로 실행하세요.

Setup places the files automatically. You do not need to move them yourself.

Runtime Requirements

실행 조건

Display mode must be Windowed Fullscreen or Windowed. Exclusive Fullscreen hides the overlay.
CatBridge and Guild Wars 2 must both be running to use translation and overlay features.

길드워2의 화면 모드를 전체화면 창모드(Windowed Fullscreen) 또는 창모드(Windowed)로 설정해야 합니다. 전체화면(Exclusive Fullscreen)에서는 오버레이가 표시되지 않습니다.

CatBridge works without paid API keys. Start with the free engines, add Groq for speech recognition, then add OpenRouter or Gemini when you want AI translation.

CatBridge는 유료 API 키 없이도 작동합니다. 무료 엔진으로 시작하고, 음성인식이나 더 좋은 AI 번역이 필요해질 때 Groq, OpenRouter, Gemini를 추가하면 됩니다.

1. Start with the free engines

M, B, C, P, and Google are all completely free. M is the usual first recommendation, but languages and situations vary, so try the other free engines if they feel better. Machine translation does not use the persona dictionary, and short, complex chat lines often sound more awkward than AI translation.

M, B, C, P, Google 다섯 가지는 모두 완전 무료입니다. 보통은 M엔진을 먼저 추천하지만, 언어나 상황에 따라 다른 무료 엔진이 더 잘 맞을 수도 있습니다. 기계번역에는 페르소나 사전이 적용되지 않고 짧고 복잡한 채팅 문장은 AI 번역보다 어색한 경우가 많습니다.

Groq is worth setting up first. The key takes about ten seconds to create and enables free speech recognition for Discord voice translation and Voice to Chat. Its translation model is included as a preset, but it is not the recommended translation-quality choice.

Groq는 먼저 만들어두는 것을 추천합니다. 키 발급은 10초 정도면 끝나고, 디스코드 음성 통역과 Voice to Chat의 무료 음성인식 기능을 사용할 수 있습니다. 번역 프리셋도 들어 있지만 번역 품질 추천용은 아닙니다.

3. Add an AI engine when you want stronger translation

For paid AI translation, CatBridge supports engines such as OpenRouter and Gemini. Add the key for the provider you want to use, then select the engine in CatBridge settings.

유료 AI 번역은 OpenRouter나 Gemini 같은 엔진을 골라 쓸 수 있습니다. 사용할 제공자의 키를 등록한 뒤 CatBridge 설정에서 원하는 엔진을 선택하면 됩니다.

4. Use Gemini for the easiest top-quality setup

Gemini is still the easiest high-quality option. If you do not mind paying more and want the most stable setup, create a Gemini key and use that instead.

The official GW2 account API key. When provided, CatBridge can reference your characters, gear, and progress to give more relevant translations and chatbot answers. Completely free.

길드워2 공식 계정 API 키입니다. 캐릭터, 장비, 업적 정보를 읽는 키로, 넣어두면 AI 번역과 냥카이브 답변에서 캐릭터 정보를 참고할 수 있습니다.

Recommended setup

Free engine: try M first, then switch if B, C, P, or Google fits your language better. Speech recognition: Groq. AI translation: choose OpenRouter, Gemini, or another engine that fits your setup. GW2 API is optional and completely free.

Custom Fonts

폰트 커스터마이징

Open Common Translation in CatBridge, then use User Font → Browse to select the .ttf file you want. Select Default Font to return to the built-in CatBridge font.

CatBridge의 공통 번역 페이지에서 사용자 폰트 → 찾아보기를 누르고 사용할 .ttf 파일을 선택하세요. 내장 CatBridge 폰트로 돌아가려면 기본 폰트를 누릅니다.

Known Limitations

CatBridge is still evolving, so occasional bugs can happen
Party or squad chat is designed to resume after reconnecting, but you may still need to leave and rejoin the group

Black screen on launch?

NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation or AMD FSR 3 Frame Generation conflicts with all GW2 overlay addons (ArcDPS, Blish HUD, CatBridge). Disable frame generation in your game settings or GPU control panel.

게임을 켜자마자 검은 화면이 나오고 진행이 안 돼요

NVIDIA DLSS 프레임 제너레이션 또는 AMD FSR 3 프레임 제너레이션이 켜져 있는 경우입니다. 프레임 제너레이터는 길드워2의 모든 오버레이 애드온(ArcDPS, Blish HUD, CatBridge 등)과 충돌해서 검은 화면을 일으킵니다. 게임 설정에서 프레임 제너레이션 옵션을 끄거나, NVIDIA 제어판 / AMD 소프트웨어에서 길드워2에 한해 끄세요.

Overlay not showing?

Switch your display mode from Exclusive Fullscreen to Windowed Fullscreen in the GW2 graphics settings.

게임은 잘 실행되는데 CatBridge 오버레이 창이 안 떠요

길드워2의 화면 모드가 독점 전체화면(Exclusive Fullscreen)으로 설정되어 있으면 오버레이가 표시되지 않습니다. 길드워2 설정 → 그래픽 → 화면 모드를 전체화면 창모드(Windowed Fullscreen) 또는 창모드(Windowed)로 변경하세요.

Overlay shows but nothing is translated?

Fully close Guild Wars 2 and CatBridge, then start them again. If translation still does not appear, run CatBridge Setup again and confirm that at least one connection method is available. A compatible existing version.dll, such as Korean Patch 0.4.1 or later, already counts as the Version.dll connection. Otherwise, select ArcDPS, Nexus, or Version.dll in Setup.

오버레이 창은 뜨는데 번역이 안 돼요 (채팅/NPC 대사가 안 잡힘)

Guild Wars 2와 CatBridge를 완전히 종료한 뒤 다시 실행하세요. 그래도 번역이 나오지 않으면 CatBridge Setup을 다시 실행해 하나 이상의 연결 방식이 준비되어 있는지 확인하세요. 한글패치 0.4.1 이상처럼 CatBridge 연결을 지원하는 기존 version.dll은 Version.dll 연결 방식으로 인정됩니다. 그 외에는 Setup에서 ArcDPS, Nexus 또는 Version.dll 중 하나 이상을 선택해야 합니다.
